Pakistan and Saudi Arabia extend ties in AI, Semiconductor and connectivity sectors

In a high-level meeting between Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja as well as Saudi Minister for Communications and IT Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reiterated their commitment to collaborate technologically.

Both nations discussed initiating the Pakistan Digital Corridor for a link with China and Central Asia. This plan for increasing global digital connectivity is ready.

Minister Shaza Fatima revealed a major initiative worth Rs4.8 billion under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), aimed at training over 7,000 young Pakistanis in semiconductor technologies. She also commended Saudi Arabia’s advancements in the tech industry and voiced strong support for its National Semiconductor Hub.

During talks between the two nations, both sides explored opportunities for collaboration under Saudi Arabia’s National Technology Development Programme. They discussed forming solid partnerships between Pakistani and Saudi tech firms to encourage knowledge sharing and the creation of joint ventures focused on digital innovation.

Shaza Fatima further emphasized Pakistan’s achievements in cybersecurity, noting the critical role played by the country’s armed forces in ensuring digital security. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to being a trustworthy and active partner in supporting Saudi Arabia’s digital and economic development goals.

Both sides explored cooperation under the Saudi National Technology Development Program as well. This cooperation would increase private-sector partnerships.

During that meeting, Pakistan’s achievements in cybersecurity in conjunction with the planned role of its armed forces were acknowledged. Innovation and regional tech leadership were the shared vision between both nations.

This meeting marks such an outstanding step in Pakistan-Saudi tech collaboration for the reason that it aligns both of the countries to lead when it comes to emerging technologies also digital infrastructure development.

On Sunday, Federal Minister for Information Technology as well as Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan has transitioned earlier from the brink of economic collapse to a trajectory of sustainable growth as well as digital transformation.
